last week i made smitten kitchen / giada delaurentis's
rigatoni with eggplant puree (but with penne because penne is indisputably the best shape of pasta). um, it was SO GOOD. really flavorful, easy to make, and different from my usual "mix pasta with a bunch of steamed vegetables and cheese." YUM. do yourself a favor and make it soon.
