dog-cat-rat

ohmygod, has dog-cat-rat moved from santa barbara to san francisco, or is it possible that there are two dog-cat-rats??

when we were in santa barbara two years ago for my cousin emily's wedding, my family was walking around the downtown area and there was a dog.  with a cat on its back.  with a rat on its back.  apparently this is legend in the santa barbara area, because when we met up with emily, i said, "you'll never believe what we just saw!  there was this possibly homeless guy - " and before i could say anything else, emily said, "dog-cat-rat?"

family: can you identify this dog-cat-rat as the one we saw?

  1. I remember the animal(s) but couldn't say for sure this is the same trio. I think Laura has a photo or two from SB. I'll check! I'm glad you're off to a great summer, Claire. Great to read all about it.

  2. This is not the same trio. This dog is a rotweiler, and the Santa Barbara dog was some kind of German Shepherd mix. Also, the Santa Barbara rat was white and gray, not all white. I wonder if dog-cat-rat is like old musical groups (think the Temptations) where members are replaced one at a time, keeping the name, until all of the members are different. Maybe the owner of dog-cat-rat is the same person and each of the animals was replaced sequentially. Or maybe there are two nuts in the world who are trying to alter the natural state of things.

  7. Seriously!? I think it is the same trio...The question is: How did he get to England. They are SO strict about animals flying in and out...ever hear of a rat being quarantined?
