truths

my mom (also a teacher) sent this to me a couple months ago...i thought i'd pick out the best bits for you:

According to Jeff Foxworthy:

You know you are a teacher if...
--You get a secret thrill out of laminating something.
--You believe the teachers' lounge should be equipped with a margarita machine. [note: our school received an "anonymous donation" of a margarita machine four years ago.  it gets pulled out by the head of school at the beginning and end of the year faculty parties.  i'm not even joking.]
--You want to slap the next person who says "Must be nice to work 7:15 to 3:15 and have summers off."
--You feel the urge to talk to strange children and correct their behavior when you are out in public.
--You understand instantaneously why a child behaves a certain way after meeting his or her parents.

oh, teaching.  how i love this job...90% of the time...
