hell yeah

big day for civil rights in america!  (love that the photo in this article makes gillibrand and reid look like an old married couple.)

an excerpt of the article that sums up PERFECTLY what i think about this issue:

“I don’t care who you love,” Senator Ron Wyden, Democrat of Oregon, said as the debate opened. “If you love this country enough to risk your life for it, you shouldn’t have to hide who you are.”


lots and lots of work ahead, of course.  but obama wanted a legislative repeal of a law that congress enacted in the first place, and it's happened.  and i think it's a good day for america.

  1. And much to my surprise, Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina was one of 8 Republicans to vote in favor of repeal.
