we've entered the period of the year where every publication has their "best of 2010" lists going. want to know a secret? I LOVE THESE LISTS. to news organizations, i say: please tell me what you think are the best songs, photographs, books, moments of the year. i like lists. and i'd rather you wade through the millions of songs/photos/books/moments and tell me what is interesting, as opposed to doing it myself.
this one caught my eye - reuters' "55 best photographs of the year." some (most) of them capture tragedies that have occurred this year, on some scale, around the world. i like this photo* best because it isn't sad, it isn't political...it's just beautiful.
