i had a bad afternoon
and a coworker who isn't a particularly close friend -
we've hung out a couple times
but we're not, you know, super close -
bought me a beer and welcomed me into her group of friends
and that little act of kindness meant
everything.

i'm a firm believer that a little kindness goes a long long way
and tonight was proof of that.
